And so it begins...

This is my first post, but I'm not good at writing a journal, so we'll see.  On the other hand, I've been taking my temperature every morning since October, so that is something to consider as well!

This month was supposed to be my first "kick at the can", so to speak.  Sperm donor chosen, ordered, delivered and chillin' out in the fertility clinic, just waiting for ovulation to happen.  Period started on a Sunday, and Tuesday morning at 7:00, I find myself at the hospital having a full-bladder and an endo-vaginal ultrasound.  Next, off to the fertility clinic for blood work.  Everything looks good, according to Anne, so the next week the fun would begin.

Monday, day 9 of my December cycle, I'm back at the hospital.  No full-bladder ultrasound this time - thank god!  Just endo-vaginal...whoo hoo!  Anyway, Monday's ultrasound and blood work look good.  See you on Wednesday, Anne said.

Wednesday, day 11, another EV ultrasound and more blood work.  One follicle in the right ovary looks pretty good.  15 x 15 mm.  Come on back on Friday.

Friday, day 13 - I wake up, right lower abdomen tender.  Sonographer can't find that 15 x 15 follicle.  Michelle at the clinic says she has never seen this before - not good - but the blood work will tell the story.  Message on the machine later in the morning tells me that my estrogen level has dropped, indicating that the follicle was of poor quality.  Insemination will not be attempted this month.

It is pretty disappointing, quite frankly.  I expected to be inseminated and was prepared for it not to work.  I was NOT prepared to not even try.  Had a few tears with my naturopath.  Instead of doing a fertility acupuncture treatment, she did a BodyTalk session.
